The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has announced it is seeking a strategic partner to go into the 2020 general election with and called for more collaboration among all the political parties regardless of their varying philosophies.
According to the party, it is particularly interested in partnering a party with policies that will enhance the development of the nation.
Delivering a solidarity message at the National Democratic Congress National Delegates’ Congress Saturday at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra, National Secretary of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Murtala Mohammed Ahmed, noted that the development of the country required a collective effort.
“The PPP is ready for a strategic partnership in the 2020 elections, a strategic partnership in policy, in policy direction and parliamentary collaborations to all political parties that can reach an amicable understanding with us before 2020 elections.
“The opposition parties, irrespective of how big or large, have something in common because we are all in opposition, internal bickering that have characterised political parties over the years is long overdue and the citizenry are tired.
“I think Ghanaians are tired of internal bickering and wrangling, I’m not against dissent that is necessary especially as social democratic party like yours however, your unity is paramount, it is very important that you come out of this congress united.
“The citizenry are watching and counting on the NDC hence you cannot afford to disgrace yourselves since the outcome of the election and the presidential in December will determine largely the outcome of the 2020 elections.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for “a healthy relationship” between political parties in the country, especially the NPP and the NDC, which have governed the country since the Fourth Republic. -3news.com
