Welbeck groaning in pain during his injury
ARSENAL striker Danny Welbeck has undergone a second operation on his ankle after sustaining an injury against Sporting CP last week, the club have said.
“Both procedures went well, without complications,” the club said in a statement.
“Danny will now recuperate and start his rehabilitation. It’s too early to say how long this will take.”
The forward landed awkwardly as he challenged Bruno Gaspar for a header early in the first half, and was given oxygen as he received treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off.
The club described it after the game as a “significant right ankle injury.”
The Daily Mail says Arsenal will provide more concrete details around the length of Welbeck’s recovery in the next 48 hours. – Eurosport
