Mr Agyapong
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has expressed his disappointment in the government for failing to disclose the number of jobs it has created across the country.
“The NPP government in less than two years has made big strides, particularly in creation of jobs but many Ghanaians are not aware of the achievements due to failure on the part of institutions in charge to make the numbers public.
“That has given opposition parties enough reason to spread propaganda and deceive the citizenry who are ignorant of government’s achievements at various sectors of the economy, COCOBOD alone has employed 76,000 people since the NPP took over power but majority of the populace do not know the number of jobs that has been created.
“The Ministry of Education has also reduced unemployment through the 40,000 jobs it created and that of the Forestry Commission is also unknown, these among others, are the reasons I’m disappointed in my government because the institutions are not performing their mandate as required of them, thereby making the government unpopular”.
“That is why I’m disappointed in NPP, department by department, agency by agency, ministry by ministry should give us the information and put them out there, propaganda is saying things are hard but look at what we’re doing with the economy.
“We’ve added 90,000 more Police, Immigration, Fire Service, what are we doing to ourselves that we don’t let Ghanaians know the good work we’re doing.
“The government’s achievements must be hyped by various public institutions, through the compilation and publication for Ghanaians to know,” Mr Agyapong fumed. –mynewsgh.com
