Ghana’s Jessie Manyo Plange, has promised to win the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) bantamweight title when he takes on Michael Dasmarinas tomorrow at the Marina Bay Sandso, in Singapore.
The fight would present Manyo-Plange a perfect opportunity to win a world title for Ghana.
At a pre-match press conference in Singapore, the former Ghana amateur boxing team skipper with 17 undefeated professional record said “I’m ready for the upcoming fight. My aim is to win and I’m going to achieve it.”
“Dasmarinas is a good fighter; there’s no doubt about that. He is the reigning champion but I would dethrone him no matter what. I have been waiting for this opportunity which I have finally gotten, so I won’t disappoint my fans.”
On his part, Dasmarinas said, “I am excited to fight again; I wish the fight was today. I’ll put up a good fight to defend this title I worked hard for.”
“As a boxer, I’m training very hard for this big fight. I’m training as hard as the last time, but now I want to prove myself even more as a boxer, especially now that I have the IBO world bantamweight belt with me.
“To my fans, please keep on supporting me and praying for me to win. To the Filipinos, especially those in Singapore, please come and support my fight. I would make sure I win for my country.” –GNA
