Former President Mahama
Former President John Mahama has stated that Ghanaians need to be thankful for the situation they find themselves because God is preparing them for something better.
He explained that even in the midst of hardships, like the country’s current economy which is facing harsh criticisms with a lot of people saying things are hard it is not going well, “if you seek the favour of God you will reap 100 folds.”
Speaking at the Ringway Assemblies of God Church on Sunday, former President Mahama noted that “God can select you for favour that is if you seek his favour and if you do the things that please him” and cited many examples from the Bible “about people who were blessed, even in the face of famine and drought.”
On Monday, President Nana Akufo-Addo admitted that the economy was going through some trying moments.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Community in New York, USA, President Akufo-Addo attributed the difficulties in the country to the “dramatic increase in crude oil prices” and the strengthening of the US dollar.
President Akufo-Addo admits that has led to “a significant and rapid depreciation of the cedi” but was quick to add that the Bank of Ghana is fighting the depreciation. –myjoyonline.com
