Mr Sackey
A Deputy General Secretary hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ephraim Nii Tan Sackey, has said a database on party members has become more critical than ever if the party was to properly identify its members.
Submitting his nomination forms at the party’s headquarters in Accra, he posited that it was important the party knew who its actual members were in its reorganisation agenda for victory in the 2020 general election.
Mr Sackey has promised to create a comprehensive database on party members if voted into office and noted that though the party had a list of registered members at branches across the country, the names were not properly compiled as a workable document for the benefit of members.
A comprehensive database for the party at every level, the Deputy General Secretary hopeful stressed “will help eliminate the challenge of identifying party members in creating opportunities for them when the party returns to power”.
As the immediate Secretary to the Greater Accra Elections Committee, Mr Sackey indicated he helped developed a picture album for the party that ensured a peaceful conduct of the elections.
Positions held by Mr Sackey include the Ablekuma District Committee Secretary, Ablekuma South Constituency Secretary, Chairman, Ablekuma South Election Committee, Deputy Ablekuma South Constituency Secretary and Director of Ablekuma South Constituency Elections.
“I have worked from the grassroots level as a ward secretary, branch secretary, deputy constituency secretary, constituency secretary, District Elections Committee Secretary and at various levels at the region.
“This is the time for me to move to the national level and take up the Deputy General Secretary position to serve the party better,” he said.
“I bring on board values such as sensitivity to confidential information, creativity, intrinsic motivation, openness to new ideas, good leadership and communication skills and a team player.”
The NDC Deputy Secretary aspirant who is currently pursuing Law at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), holds a Masters Degree in Development Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Mr Sackey also possesses certificates in Monitoring and Evaluation Programme from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a certificate in Oil and Gas Project Management from the Management Development and Productivity Institute.
