Management of the Sunyani Technical University (STU) has signed Performance Management Contract with Directors, Deans and Heads of Department (HoDs) as part of measures to realize the various targets set for the 2018/2019 academic year.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Kwadwo Adinkra-Appiah, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Justice Solomon Korantwi-Barimah and the Registrar, S.A Obour supervised the signing ceremony.
Prof. Adinkra-Appiah admonished the Directors, Deans and the HoDs to work hard to achieve the various targets contained in the contract as part of their contributions toward the advancement of the university, especially in the area of admissions.
He said management was considering instituting awards for all those who would be able to meet their targets to boost their morale as well as encourage others to give off their best.
“At the end of the year, there would be an evaluation of all your work. We will award those who will meet their targets. We hope to create an award system to reward Deans and Departmental Heads who would excel to serve as an incentive and also encourage others,” Prof. Adinkra-Appiah said.
He also added that “sanctions would be applied to HoDs, and others who sleep on their jobs while those who fail blatantly would lose their positions.
