Asamoah
Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah insists Black Stars must learn from their shock 1-0 defeat to Kenya and improve their game.
The Black Stars were stunned in Nairobi on Saturday as they lost to a 10-man Kenyan side in their second Group F game of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Asamoah came off the bench to play his first game for Ghana in four years.
“We played so well and had a lot of chances which we could have won the game but we couldn’t make it,” he told Joy FM.
“This is a wakeup call for us and knows that now in football there is no country you can beat easily.
“The outcome of the game will also motivate us to improve going into our next game.”
Meeanwhile, Kenya midfielder Musa Mohammed could not hide his joy following their win over Ghana on Saturday.
He said after that game: “We never anticipated this win because we felt Ghana was strong and was definitely going to win but we managed to stop them and that makes us happy.”
“I am very excited for myself, my teammates and the fans that came in their numbers to support us.
“We can build on this and I believe if we continue like this we can qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.”
