A man who allegedly killed his friend over Ghc30.00 has been arrested by the police, here.
Kwadwo Afriyie, the suspect, was said to have gone into hiding after allegedly murdering Amos Ekow, on Tuesday, July 25, this year, at Aboabo Mempeasem, in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of Ashanti.
He was, however, arrested by the police on yesterday, and placed in police custody, a police source confirmed to the Ghanaian Times.
Family members of the deceased, mostly women, could not control tears as they rained curses and insults on Afriyie, who looked pale and dejected.
It was gathered that the deceased was said to have been stabbed several times in the chest by Afriyie.
Eye witnesses told the Ghanaian Times that the deceased borrowed Ghc30.00 from Afriyie, but he failed to repay the amount.
When Afriyie met Ekow at a spot, he demanded his money, resulting in a misunderstanding, and Afriyie stabbed Ekow with a pair of scissors, and went into hiding.
The body of Ekow had been deposited at the morgue at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
