This follows a publication by the Al-hajj newspaper that allegedly states “Akufo-Addo ‘stops’ Ntim from contesting NPP chair race in favour of Alhaji Short”.
In the said publication, it reported that President Akufo-Addo bent on getting his preferred candidate to become the next National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, cannily baited Stephen Ntim with a lucrative post in his government by making him Chairman of the Governing Board of Ghana Lands Commission to get him back down his ambition.
The group has denied allegations made by the Al-hajj newspaper in a press statement and believes it is a move by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to create confusion in the party.
In a statement jointly signed by Messrs Kwabena Frimpong and Daniel Baah, national president and national secretary respectively, said
“we are assuring our teeming supporters and crusaders nationwide to treat the publications as pure falsehood and lacks merit, this is because there is no iota of truth in the said publication.
“We believe it’s one of the many machinations from the NDC to create tension in our great party.
“Mr Stephen Ayensu Ntim has our party at heart and will not relent on his dreams of becoming the National Chairman of our great party”.
“Mr Stephen Ayensu Ntim has our party at heart and will not relent on his dreams of becoming the National Chairman.
“He has really served the party in good faith, we believe that the good people and delegates of our dear party will reward his hard work and loyalty this time around.
“We are never perturbed by these actions and we are much convinced that the said publication do not wish our party well”. –ghanaweb.com
