The UFC star is leaving behind the octagon for the Queensberry Rules when he takes on Mayweather Jnr in Las Vegas on August 26 and ‘Iron Mike’ does not rate the Irishman’s chances.
The former boxer revealed in an interview with podcast ‘Pardon My Take’ that he believes McGregor made a serious mistake in agreeing to fight a boxer — who is unbeaten in his 49 fights and rated among the pound-for-pound all-time greats — at his own game.
Tyson said: ‘McGregor is going to get killed in boxing. I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA guy?
‘McConor puts himself in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because this guy’s been doing this all his life since he was a baby. McConor can’t kick and grab and stuff so he won’t stand much of a chance.
‘McGregor took the biggest sucker rules in the history of boxing.”
The highly-anticipated showdown between Mayweather and McGregor will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in front of over 20,000 spectators.
Those 20,000 will have to pay through the nose to be there, though. The cheapest option for a seat in the arena clocks in at a pricey $500 (£385).
That is cheap compared to the cost of a front-row seat for the event, which will cost a staggering $10,000 (£7,706).
Meanwhile, Conor McGregor has shown off his latest workout regime ahead of his highly-anticipated fight with Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas next month.
The Notorious is tensing his muscles and pushing for the burn as he puts himself through the mill on an exercise bike.
There is just over a month left until he fights Mayweather at the T-Mobile Arena, but boxing legend Mike Tyson believes it could be very one-sided.-Mailonline
