The court ordered Ebenezer Jones Adamtey,Tei Israel, Micheal Adjei Nortey, Theophilus Narh, Kosivi Amana,Wisdom Tetteh, Jerry George, Wisdom Sackitey, Senyo George, Felix Tawiah, Tetteh Emmanuel and Bach Emmanuel to re-appear on July 28.
The Ghanaian Times earlier reported that 12 men including the Assembly Member for Somanya, Adamtey, were refused bail and remanded after they were arrested for vandalising the Somanya Police Station.
The accused persons were said to have vandalised the Somanya Police Station and other property, following the arrest of the Assembly Member.
Adamtey allegedly led the irate youth of the town to cause unlawful damage to the Somanya Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana, on Friday, May 26, 2017.
This resulted in the detention of four suspects in Somanya police cells, and were freed by the irate youth.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to five counts of conspiracy to commit riot, rioting, rioting with weapons, unlawful assembly and forcible entry when they appeared before the Koforidua Circuit Court.
However, Adamtey was charged separately for causing damage, demonstrating without observing Public Order Act and provocation of riot of which he pleaded not guilty.
