The residence of Justice Senyo Amedahe, a High Court judge, at Danyame, in Kumasi, was burgled on Sunday dawn.
He was said not to be at home while the policeman guarding the place, was not at post when the incident occurred.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command is questioning the policeman.
“We are investigating the policeman as to why he failed to be at post; we have asked his superior to submit a report on him. For him to absent is a major offence and the police would delve into that,” Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP)Juliana Obeng, Head of the Ashanti Regional Police Public Affairs Unit, said when The Ghanaian Times contacted her.
The burglars were said to have used a razor blade to cut the net covering the window of the houseboy’s room, and had access to the rooms.
ASP Obeng said three laptop computers, two iPads, two mobile handsets, a laptop bag, documents and an undisclosed amount of money were allegedly stolen during the burglary.
She said that a watchman at the residence, who was present during the robbery, had been invited for questioning and granted police enquiry bail.
Meanwhile the police, ASP Obeng said, have intensified their search for the suspects , and appealed to the public to volunteer information that could assist in the arrest of the suspects.
