Ghana will work closely with China to improve the country’s road infrastructure, Kwasi Amoako-Attah, Minster for Roads and Highways, has said.
He said Infrastructure was high on government’s agenda and a stronger relationship with China, which is a global giant in that sector, would boost government’s efforts.
The minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Atiwa West in the Eastern Region made these known when the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Ms. Sun Baohong, paid a courtesy call on him in Accra yesterday.

On the fight against illegal mining also known as ‘galamsey, Mr. Amoako-Attah said government would not let it ruin the relationship between the two countries, explaining that Ghana was only protecting its natural resources.
Ms. Baohong, for her part said her government would continue to promote its long-standing relationship with Ghana for mutual benefits and commended the government for its support of Chinese businesses.
She said the Chinese Embassy was collaborating with Ghana to set up a framework for collaboration for the next three to five years, which would lead to the execution of a number of projects.
On galamsey, she called for a more comprehensive strategy to address the root symptoms and declared her country’s support to the search for a lasting solution to the situation.
