The Minister for Aviation, Ms. Cecilia Abena Dapaah has inaugurated a nine-member advisory board for the ministry in Accra last Monday.
The board is expected to advise the sector minister on policies, planning and operational strategies.
Chaired by the minister, the board also includes the deputy Minister for Aviation, Mr. Kwabena O. Darko Mensah, Ms. Christina Edmund, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Kwarteng, and Mr. Simon Allotey.
The rest are, Mr. John Dekyem Attafuah, Mr. Joseph Mensah Browne, Mr. Kwaku Kwafo Apeadu, and Ms. Mary Obiyaa Anim.
Representatives of the board were drawn from the Ministry of Aviation, the private sector, Ministry of Finance, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and the Ghana Airport Company Limited.
Inaugurating the board, Ms. Dapaah called on members to assist the ministry in the discharge of its duties by ensuring they give off their best to make the sector an enviable one.
The minister indicated that, the transformation of the aviation industry of the country greatly depended on sound policies and prudent implementation of strategies adopted through consultations with stakeholders.
She therefore charged members to use their experience and professional ideas efficiently for the benefit of the ministry.
A member of the board, Ms. Mary Obiyaa Anim said the establishment of the board would go a long way in strengthening the sector to achieve results.
She expressed gratitude to the ministry for the trust reposed in them.
The Ministry of Aviation was created in February 27 to spearhead the development of Ghana’s aviation industry and make it very competitive within the African sub-region and beyond.
