Forty-six “yes” ballots stood against one “no” ballot as members of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) voted to accept Felix Mensah Annang-La, the President’s nominee for the post of Metropolitan Chief Executive.
He needed at least 32 votes to secure the nod to manage one of the most endowed assemblies in the country that has the country’s biggest harbour and the largest concentration of industries.
In an acceptance speech, he called for cooperation and hard work to bring back the glory and beauty of the Metropolis.
According to him, Tema would also become a clean metropolis as the President as envisaged for Accra which lies some eighteen kilometres to its west.
Dignitaries who witnessed the election included Ishmael Ashittey, Greater Accra Regional Minister and Nii Adjei Kraku II, Tema Mantse.
