The District Electoral Officer declaring Mr. Zongyrah the DCE-elect
Four municipal and district assemblies in the Brong-Ahafo Region have endorsed President Akufo-Addo’s nominees for the position of chief executives in their respective assemblies.
They are Sunyani and Wenchi Municipal assemblies, Tano North and Kintampo South District Assemblies.
The 49 assembly members present endorsed Mrs.Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sunyani.
Mrs. Richardson, a former lecturer of the Sunyani Technical University (formally Sunyani Polytechnic), becomes the first female MCE for Sunyani.
After her confirmation, Mrs. Richardson expressed gratitude to God. She further thanked the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for offering her the opportunity to serve her people.
She was also grateful to the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, Kwasi Asomah-Cheremeh, the Omanhene of Sunyani, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri and assembly members for their prayers and support.
Mrs. Richardson pledged to work with all stakeholders to development of the municipality.
At Duayaw Nkwanta, capital of the Tano North District, the President’s nominee, Ernest Kwarteng, also a lecturer of the Sunyani Technical University secured 34 votes out of the 35.
Mr. Kwarteng thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him.
The President’s nominee for Kintampo South, Alexander Gyan, also had his nomination confirmed by 39 out of the 40 assembly members.
Mr. Prince Kwakye Afriyie, the President’s nominee for the Wenchi Municipal Assembly was also endorsed.
The Electoral Commission supervised the four elections, which were graced by the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh and the MP for Sunyani East who is also the Majority Chief Whip, Kwasi Asomah-Cheremeh as well as several other dignitaries.
Three district assemblies in the Northern Region have endorsed the President`s nominees for the position of district chief executives (DCE).

The assemblies are West Gonja, North Gonja and Mamprugu-Mongduri.
Members of the West Gonja approved Saeed Muhazu Jibril as the DCE for the area.
He polled 15 valid votes out of a total of 17, representing 88 per cent.
Mr.Abu Adam was endorsed as the new DCE for Mamprugu-Moagduri district.
He was unanimously endorsed by the 16 assembly members present.
The North Gonja District also overwhelmingly confirmed the President`s nominee, Adam Iliasu as the DCE.
The Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Salifu Saeed attended the endorsement ceremonies commended the assembly members for confirming the nominees.
He said the action of the assembly members was clear indications of their readiness to assist develop their respective districts.
The regional minister urged them to cooperate with their respective DCE to implement the policies of government.
THE Central Tongu District Assembly in the Volta Region has endorsed Mr. Thomas Moore Zonyrah, 45, a building technologist and contractor as the District Chief Executive (DCE),

All but one of the 39 assembly members voted in support of Mr. Zongyrah, last Friday, at Adidome, the district capital.
The one ballot was rejected as invalid after the poll conducted by the Electoral Commission.
There was applause from the gathering which included traditional rulers, heads of department and members of the public, when the district electoral officer, Mr. Jonathan Okine declared the result.
Mr. Zonyrah was sworn into office by Mr. Augustine Essah, a magistrate.
Mr. Zonyrah, said he would serve with utmost consideration for the needs of the people and uphold team work to move the Central Tongu District forward.
The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, said the assembly had set a sterling standard for other assemblies to emulate.
“The strong unison demonstrated by the members was an indication of bright development prospects in the district,” he stated.
