Cadets Corps
Students from the Western and Central Regions of the National Cadet Corps have undergone a five-day leadership training camp at the Fijai Senior High School in the Western Region.
The camp meeting organised under the auspices of the National Cadet Corps in collaboration with the Central and Western Regional cadet commands had a total number of 311 students participating.
It was under the theme, ‘A disciplined cadet: An asset for nation and national development.’
Frank Kudroha, the Camp Commander during the closing ceremony commended the students for successfully going through the leadership training under the supervision of the Western Naval Command.
He said the students were taken through training regiment which included pioneering, navigation, swimming, voice procedure, basic drills and a sea trip to enhance their skills.
Mr Kudroha said members of the National Cadet Corps during vacations, especially, the long ones, were taken to camps to build their capacity to handle social and individual challenges.
He said the camp expose, has opened up many avenues for students to enhance their skills in order to build their presence in the communities.
Mr. Kudroha said the exercise has helped to inject a greater degree of self-discipline, voluntarism and patriotism into the children to respond to national calls at all times.
