The kingmakers of the Ningo Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region have enstooled Nene Osroagbo Djangmah XII as their Paramount Chief.
Nene Djangmah XII, who will also double as the President of the Ningo Traditional Council, succeeds Nene Osroagbo Djangmah II who was called to glory in 2005.
The new 56-year-old Royal Majesty, known in private life as Abednego Tawiah Gblie Osroagbo, was gazetted by the National House of Chiefs on March 28, 2025.
The colourful all-white and peaceful public enstoolment of the new Royal Majesty at the Ningo Traditional Council saw the indigenous people dancing to traditional songs, amid the firing of muskets, after two decades without a Paramount Chief.
Among the kingmakers at the enstoolment were; Nana Dugbakuwor Dugba II, the Queen mother of the Ningo Traditional Area and Nene Tei Atiapah II, the Area’s Mankralo, both of whom expressed their huge excitement for the new day that dawned on Ningo, after twenty years of litigation for the next successor to the throne.
In his brief remarks to thank the kingmakers and the people of Ningo, His Majesty Nene Djangmah XII stated that, “The time to rebuild Great Ningo has begun. I invite all Ningos here and abroad to come home and join me to give our Great Ningo back its shine.
“I come with a commitment to serving you and bringing my expertise to bare to make our home great again with your support and encouragement. Together, I want to assure you that we can make Ningo great again.”
Receiving loud cheers and applause from the heavy crowd, Nene Osroagbo Djangmah XII, who is a commercial farmer, appealed to the various factions in the Traditional Area to extend an olive branch for the peace of Ningo and called for a future homecoming for a reunion.
