The Dompoase Senior High School (SHS) in the Adansi North District of Ashanti region, with a student population of over 2,000 and established some 60 years ago, is currently faced with infrastructural challenges that require immediate attention.

The Headmaster of the School, Mr. James Obiri-Yeboah, speaking at the launch of the 60th Anniversary celebration of the School, under the theme: “60 Years Of Transforming Lives In a Technological World: The Role Of Stakeholders,” said considering the high student population of the school, an 18-unit classroom block, with offices for the various heads of departments, will be needed.
He mentioned that the school would also need Masters’ Bungalows to accommodate some of the teachers on campus.
The headmaster also called for the provision of an ultra modern Dining Hall to accommodate the large number of students and also mentioned that Toilet facilities in the school are inadequate.
He called for the provision of additional Dormitories for both boys and girls that can accommodate at least, between 400 and 600 students.
The Dompoasehene, Okofo Kwabena Bonsu expressed grave concern over examination malpractices among students and strongly advised both teachers and students in the school to desist from such practice.
The Divisional Chief pointed out that no parent would want to send his or her child to a school where examination malpractices are rampant and threatened to take drastic measures against any teacher found to have indulged in such matters.
