The Parliamentary Candidate for Manhyia South , Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awauh , has expressed is hopeful of a higher voter turnout in the Ashanti region.
Media reports from various polling stations across the region at noon, indicate a lower voter turnout in the Ashati region.
However, Nana Baffour Awuah believes the contrary. Speaking to the media at the Nigrition Church at Dichemso ,where he voted, he did not agree that there was low voting turnout ,explaining that the way and manner at which people used to vote has changed hence the reflection at the polling station
“It is early days yet….I mean you do not find people queuing to vote which was the norm historically. It is 12:0’clock and when you check , you have between forty to forty-five people voting ;you have another five hours to go.
According to the Manhyia South PC, there a lot of people prefer to vote at the dying embers of the voting process.
“There are alot of people who are prone to last minutes, so it is likely there will be a bump up during the last period so I do not think there is any course for alarm. We are on course.
