The Police at Atwima Foase in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency of the Ashanti Region, have arrested a man and son for possessing 76 already thumb-printed ballot papers.
Identified as Charles Fokuo, 44 and Kwaku Fokuo, a Senior High School, were iniatally accosted by the residents of Methodist Primary polling station.
After their arrest, they were taken to the police station at Atwima Foase, where they were questioned about their act.
Speaking to the media, resident of Atwima Foase, explained that upon monitoring the activities of the father and son, they became suspicious of their movements hence they accosted them.
“We were watching them from afar, and we became suspicious of them. When we approached them, we saw 76 presidential ballot papers that had been thumb-printed for John Dramani Mahama, the NDC presidential candidate,” one resident said.
The Member of Parliament for the area, Kofi Amankwa-Manu, cautioned the citizenry to be vigilant of the diabolical tactics of their main opponent, the NDC.
The Atwima Kwanwoma Member of Parliament (MP), who doubles as the Deputy Defence Minister, was saddened about the incident and said he was worried that it happened in his jurisdiction.
“We received this information months ago about the bad schemes of the NDC in this jurisdiction. I am not surprised they have started this,” he said.
