The Ashanti Regional Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Akwasi Kyei, has asked those calling on Nana Akufo-Addo’s government to fix the country to open their eyes and judge for themselves the inroads so far made by this government.
He said critics must not only criticize for the sake of it but open their eyes to see the level of development so made by the Akufo-Addo government.
According to him, a lot of development projects have been done whilst others are on course, for which Ghanaians must applaud the government instead of condemning it.
Mr. Kyei mentioned the establishment of a veneer factory at Drobonso in the Kumawu Afram Plains district for youth employment.
He also mentioned Mampong, which has benefited from a Tissue factory, as well as Kwaso, Abuakwa, Kumawu and other places that have had factories established there.
The Communication Director condemned the noise being made about bad road networks and stressed that work on the roads are on course and that government has not abandoned the road projects.
Mr. Kyei indicated that about 70% of the roads have been completed and assured that all the roads are going to be completed for all to see. He called on Ghanaians to exercise patience for the government to complete what it started.
Touching on the galamsey issue, the Communications Director noted that those engaged in illegal mining are destroying the environment and cautioned them to be circumspect about their activities.
Mr. Kyei, however, lauded the burning of excavators, saying it is a step in the right direction, as it will deter others from indulging in the practice.
According to Mr. Kyei, the problem at hand is not about burning excavators, but rather our lands and rivers that are being destroyed.
