Former Central Regional Chairman and Former deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), arguably the two thorns in the flesh of the already bleeding largest opposition political party, met their newly found darling boy and friend in whom they seem to be well pleased, after their own rejected them.
President Akufo-Addo, their ‘lover’ had made time to attend the pre-burial service of the late mother of one of his ‘KumePreko’ leading member, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, the Editor In Chief of the New Crusading Guide, where the duo managed to exchange pleasantries with the President.
Though it was a tête-à-tête, watching from afar, it was a sight worth seeing, considering where the two are coming from and the issues surrounding their feud with their mother party.
What led to the suspension and dismissal of The Bull, Koku Anyidoho and Allotey Jacobs, The Educated Fisherman respectively is public knowledge to all.
They have since gone all out to support the Akufo-Addo led administration, which in 2016 they fought against, when they were officers of the NDC.
Unfortunately, in the run up to the 2020 elections, they both began to tilt towards the Akufo-Addo government, hailing it ceaselessly.
Koku had fallen out with the NDC, following what he went through at the national executives’ election in which he contested against his then boss, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, but lost.
Allotey on the other hand, complained of neglect and sabotage by some leading members in the party before, during and after the 2016 electioneering campaign, in which as the regional chairman, he lost many seats to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Meanwhile, few hours after fraternising with President Akufo-Addo, The Bull tweeted to demand from former President Mahama to answer why he hated their boss, late John Evans Atta-Mills.
He said: “For years; John Mahama has programmed his boys to ask foolish questions; let the world begin to ask sensible questions: John Mahama must answer why he hated President Atta-Mills and hates Koku Anyidoho.”
He also tweeted that: “I am ready for some action: Ghanaians should ask John Mahama why he refused to build the Asomdwee Park as well as the legacies of his boss; and ask him why he hates Koku Anyidoho? Why is JM angry that Koku Anyidoho is building the Atta-Mills Institute?”
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, with other key members of his government, including the Chief of Staff, Madam Frema Osei-Opare, who on Thursday, April 15, 2021 attended the pre-burial service of the late Madam Gloria Aba Kyerba Addison, mother of ace journalist, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako at the Tema Joint Church.
Others were the NPP Chairman, Freddy Blay, NPP General Secretary, John Boadu, Kwame Sefa Kayi, Kwesi Pratt Jnr and Anas Aremeyaw among others.
Madam Gloria Addison passed on to eternity Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Maritime Hospital, after a short illness.
She was the wife of the late Kofi Baako, Information Minister and later Defence Minister under Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
In her sermon, the officiating Minister, Very Rev. Helena Opoku-Sarkodie said the various inspiring testimonies made by Madam Addison, are testament of how impactful her life had been.
Preaching on the topic “Live and Love,” the Reverend Minister said truly Madam Addison was a legend who ventured into the male dominated fields — music, politics and football entrepreneurship — and succeeded.
Very Rev Helena Opoku-Sarkodie said it was imperative that women of today emulate the positive and forward looking attitude of Madam Addison.
Madam Gloria Aba Addison was later privately buried. Final funeral rights, according to the family, will be announced later.
