Porcupine Warriors Kumasi Asante Kotoko were in an incredible form at the Len Clay stadium yesterday, when they beat Bechem United by 4-0.
Playing under the instaurations of their new coach, Mariano Barreto, the Ashanti Warriors started the attrition quite early in the game by probing for an early goal.
One of the deadly incursions paid off in the 13th minute mark when Abdul Ganiu latched onto a pass to open the scores for his side against the visitors.
Kotoko maintained the high pressing game and should have scored more, but this was never to be, until the 44th minute when Fabio Gama scored the second goal for Kotoko.
Newly signed striker Francis Andy Kumi found favour from the Portuguese tactician and justified the trust of the coach in his debut game with a stunning goal to increase Kotoko’s tally to 3-0.
As if that was not enough damage, Coach Mariano Barreto introduced Brazilian Michael Vinícius Silva de Morais in place of Andy Kumi.
Fortunately for the Brazilian import, he also marked his debut game with a goal just about four minutes, when he was introduced to seal victory for Kotoko.
Following the sweet victory, Kotoko has dethroned their arch rivals Hearts of Oak from the 3rd position on the league log, pushing the capital city-based club to the 4th position.
The match was an outstanding league fixture that was supposed to have been played on February 25th but was rained off.
