The relatively unprecedented development spread over every corner of the Kwahu East District has courted love and affection for the young District Chief Executive (DCE), Isaac Agyapong.
The district has seen various levels of development since its creation, but the level under the current leadership of Mr Agyapong is unparalleled, a situation that has amazed the constituents.
Speaking with The Chronicle after a project tour of the district, the hardworking young DCE disclosed that the Assembly irrespective of lack of major companies have done well in areas of development.
Education
Speaking on education, the former Assembly Member for Kwahu Bokuruwa Electoral Area for seven years and teacher for eleven years at both Basic and Second cycle levels, disclosed he had constructed and facilitated 22 different infrastructural projects in the Basic and Senior High Schools across the District.
According to him, the School Feeding Programme had seen massive expansion under his leadership to cover an additional 22 schools since the establishment of the District in 2008 with the provision of 2,200 mono and dual desks to basic schools, as well as providing financial support to 780 students across the District.
Health
On health, he said he had managed to construct four different Community-Based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compounds in four selected communities, 30-bed capacity ward, one Medical Diagnostic and Imaging Center.
He added that under his stewardship, the Assembly had trained 150 Maternal and Child Health Promoters across the District, and also provided 10 hospital beds to selected health facilities.
Again, they had trained 150 MCH Promoters through the support of the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP).
Water and Sanitation
There has been construction of 13 institutional and community toilets, 98 household toilets in selected communities, and 19 different Small Water Systems in selected communities.
Electrification
On rural electrification, he said 27 communities had been connected to the national grid, and a total of 600 streetlights had been installed across the District.
Roads
On roads construction, the DCE said bituminous surfacing of 34 kilometres of roads had been completed, while an additional 55km had been awarded on contract, adding that he had also undertaken routine maintenance of 220km feeder roads among others.
