The Municipal Chief Executive for Sunyani in the Bono Region, Justina Owusu-Banahene, has presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Municipal Education Directorate.
The items presented included fifty veronica buckets with metal stands, waste water receptors, tissues, bins, 6,000 pieces of reusable nose masks, and 5,000 pieces of alcohol-based hand sensitisers.
Madam Owusu Banahene, on behalf of the Municipal Assembly, asked the Education Directorate to distribute the PPE to schools in the municipality to assist in the fight against the COVID-19.
Last week, the MCE indicated that parents of school children without nose masks would be sanctioned.
Madam Owusu Banahene stressed on the need for society to put in place adequate measures to protect school children from contracting the Coronavirus.
She further asked the Directorate to “liaise with headmasters in schools to monitor situations at the various schools to be updated for swift responses to be taken to ensure that our future leaders are well protected against COVID-19.”
