Jealous DCE’s Dad Acid-Baths Ex-Lover & Mother

A 54-year-old Awukugua-based businessman, Nana Yaw Mante, has allegedly poured acid on one Deborah Osei, alleged to be his former girlfriend, and her mother, for rejecting his proposal of marriage.

The businessman, who, according to credible information gathered by The Chronicle, is a father of one of the District Chief Executives (DCEs) in the Eastern Region, did the unthinkable when their romantic relationship went sour.

According to the information, Deborah Osei, 18, and a Senior High School (SHS) graduate, who was allegedly in a relationship with the man, suffered the barbaric act when she decided to end the relationship.

This reporter was told that Debora and the family benefited financially from the DCE’s father during her SHS education, but the once upon a time romance turned tragic when the young girl and her mother decided to end the affair.

The paper’s investigation revealed that the Awukugua-based businessman decided to sponsor the education of young Debora and later marry her, a situation which was largely agreed upon by the family of Debora, but immediately after school she walked out of the relationship.

This development angered Mante, who decided to discipline the young lady by allegedly pouring the acid on her and the mother. In a new video sighted by The Chronicle, the mother and daughter were seen with huge acid injuries on them.

According to the video, the barbaric act was allegedly done by Mante, after he stormed the family house in the night, when the young lady and mother had taken their baths and were just about dressing up and managed to pour acid on them.

But for the appearance of her elderly sibling, after Deborah Osei and her mother screamed for help, drawing attention, who subsequently helped to transport them to the hospital, there would have been a bad narrative at Awukugua. The two have since been hospitalised and are still undergoing treatment.

The victim has indicated that the suspect had earlier threatened to either kill or deform her before the end of this year, 2020, which had been reported to the Adukrom Police Command.

Although the police confirmed the incident to the media, it didn’t indicate if the man had been arrested again. The two families were already having a legal battle in the Koforidua District Magistrate Court after Mantey was allegedly caught circulating nude videos of his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend.

LEGAL BATTLE

The victim reported the incident to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) at the Regional Police Headquarters in Koforidua.

The accused was arrested on February 7, 2020, and in his caution statement admitted recording sexually explicit videos of the victim, and sharing same. The receivers of the videos confirmed to the police during interrogation that the accused sent it to them, but denied circulating them on social media.

When contacted on his cell phone, the said DCE confirmed that Nana Yaw Mante was the one who gave birth to him, but he did not see him (Mr. Mante) as his father, because it was his mother who took care of him.

To him, someone has committed a crime and he has to be associated with that crime, adding that “I don’t understand why my name should be associated with someone who did not take care of me, and I don’t even know where he lives.

“The girl is a bad girl and does not fear God, otherwise, she would not have been sleeping with someone who could be her father, and when there is a problem, my name would be associated with that problem,” he asserted.

As at the time of filing this report, the paper was informed that Mr. Mante had been dragged to an Akuapem Mampong Magistrate Court.
