The Breaking Yoke Ministry International, last Sunday, presented a peace award to Nii Bortey Klan I, Chief of Klagon, and other high-profile personalities within its operational area.
The other high-profile personalities who also received the peace awards include Elizabeth Afoley Quaye – Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Carlos Ahenkorah – Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tema West Constituency, and Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo – National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The rest are Nii Odaifio King Welentse III – Paramount Chief and President of the Nungua Traditional Council, and Nii Botwe Laryea II, Nungua Dzaasetse.
Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Krowor Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, and Hon Carlos Ahenkorah, who is a former deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, were present to receive their awards.
However, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, a former Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, the Paramount Chief and President of the Nungua Traditional Council, and the Nungua Dzaasetse did not turn up at the function to receive their awards.
Presenting the award to the Klagon Mantse, Prophet Dr. Cephas Kwame Kpegah Tamakloe said the Chief had contributed so much to the peace in the community that he deserves to be appreciated for all he has done.
According to him, if all chiefs across the country could set up an agenda to promote peace and unity in their respective communities, as the Klagon Mantse has done, Ghana would have been a better place for all of us.
The citation that accompanied the award read: “The Breaking Yoke Ministry International is pleased to present to you the KINGDOM PEACEMAKERS LEGACY AWARD. Congratulations. We celebrate your exuberance for promoting peace and unity in our community.”
Speaking in an interview with The Chronicle, the Klagon Mantse said he was happy to have received the award from such a reputed church, which is noted for preaching the Word of God in the nook and cranny of the country, and winning souls for God.
“As a Christian, I very much cherish being in the presence of God, my maker, and being recognised by no mean a Church as the Breaking Yoke Ministry International and being presented with an award is a privilege,” he noted.
According to him, even though this was not the first time he was receiving an award in the country, he was proud to be recognised by such a reputable Church, and for which reason, he would continue to do more.
He advised all Ghanaians to continue doing whatever they do or are doing, because, “you don’t know when somebody or an institution would recognise your work and honour you.
“I urge all Ghanaians to hold on fast to whatever they are doing, in whatever capacity and in whichever corner they find themselves. They should do it with all their hearts and might, because one day, somebody will recognise their effort and honour them,” he noted.
The Klagon Mantse thanked Prophet Dr. Cephas Kwame KpegahTamakloe, the leadership and members of the Church for the award, saying it would spur him on to continue to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Church.
