There is a popular saying that acting is all about make belief. Some actresses have gone all the way to have their hair shaved off so as to better interpret movie roles. Bold, aren’t they? See their cute bald head pictures below;

Nana Ama Mcbrown

In a movie titled “Atemmuo” (Judgment), the Ghanaian actress gladly shaved off her hair so that she could look real for the role.

Nana Ama McBrown is reported to have said “I wanted to make the movie look real so I shaved all my hair. It was my first time of going completely bald in a movie and I have not regretted at all because ultimately the movie turned out exactly how I wanted and I know when people watch it they would understand why I did it”.

Emelia Brobbey

Actress Emelia Brobbey has gone hairless for her lead role in the movie ‘The Big Six’. The Ghanaian wears a bald-head with just a inches of hair left over her head. She plays the role of a slave who fought against her masters in order to save other slaves.

This is not the first a Ghanaian actress has shaved the hair for a movie role.

In November 2013, actress Nana Ama McBrown also went bald to play the role of a widower.

Akorfa Ejeani Asiedu

This photograph of Akorfa Ejeani Asiedu, which depicts a completely shaved hair to skull, generated some excitement on media platforms.
The hairless photo popped up not long ago after the premiere of her movie, ‘A Letter From Adam’, but there are doubts about when it was taken and why Akorfa shaved her hair.

Christabel Ekeh

Actress Christabel Ekeh has taken a bold step in creating awareness on breast cancer as she shaves down her hair to show support for the initiative. The look came as a surprise to everyone because of her profession, as others were made to believe it was for a movie role. Christabel Ekeh is a Ghanaian actress and Model. She has been featured in more than eighty Ghanaian and Nigerian movies.

Mercy Johnson

To play the role of an Igbo widow, Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson, pushed professional boundaries by shaving her hair. The mother of two looks pale, dejected and abused in the 2011 film Heart of a Widow.

Mercy Johnson is married to Prince Odianosen Okojie since 2011 and they have four children. She is also involved in several personal businesses. One of her business ventures is her kitchen talk show.

Oge Okoye

Oge Okoye is referred to as one of the most beautiful actresses in Nigeria today. It is also no news that she takes pride in her beautiful hairdo. The sultry actress however went bald for The Three Widows.

Oge Okoye was born in London, and later moved to live in Lagos with her family. She completed her primary school in London before moving finally to Nigeria.

 Nancy Isime

The Edo state born played the role of a village palace maid who carries a secret on her back that will either cost her her life or wipe out the entire village.

Isime began a career as an actress in the TV series Echoes in 2011. Isime is also a television presenter, known for presenting gossip show The Squeeze, technology show What’s Hot and backstage segments of MTN Project Fame season 7.

Ebube Nwagbo

Along with Angela Okorie and Chita Agwu, screen diva, Ebube Nwagbo, traded her precious hair for a bald look in the movie Widows Cult.

Nwagbo is from Umuchu, a town in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Eastern Nigeria but grew up in Warri in Delta State. She is first of her parents six children. She studied Mass Communication at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

Chika Ike

Chika Ike shaved her hair when she starred in the movie Moment of Tears. The actress caused a lot of controversy on social media when it was reported that she was paid N5million for the role. Ike has established the foundation Help the Child which is aimed at helping poor children. In 2012 she threw a street party where she hosted over 3000 children, feeding them and giving out toys, school bags and writing materials. Every year she organizes a major charity event for the children on the street, provides scholarships, and provides them with school writing materials.

 Uche Jombo

In 2010, Nollywood sweetheart, Uche Jombo, went bald in the movie Holding Hope. She acted as a woman with leukaemia. Her co-stars include Nadia Buari and Desmond Elliot.

Jombo ventured into the Nigerian movie industry in 1999 in the movie Visa to Hell. As a screenwriter she has written and co-written several movies some of which include: The Celebrity, Games Men Play, Girls in the Hood & A Time to Love. Jombo went on to produce films such as Nollywood Hustlers, Holding Hope and her work Damage which deals with the issue of domestic violence.
