Nana Okofo Gyan Kwagyan II, a farmer cum businessman, has sworn the oath of allegiance to Nana Akosah Yiadom II, Chief of Atwima Adwampong, as the new Krontihene of Adwampong in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
The 52-year-old sub-chief from the Asini Clan is known in private life as Nana Kofi Twum.
He succeeds Nana Boakye Yiadom who died seven years ago.
Introducing the new Chief, the Asini Abusuapanin, Evangelist Ekuoba Gyasi Nimakoh, expressed confidence in the ability of Nana Kwagyan in carrying out development projects in the community.
The Nifahene, Nana Oti Acheampong, advised the new Chief to remain loyal to the chiefs and people to bring about the much-needed development.
Nana Akosah Yiadom II reiterated the call on the Krontihene to tread cautiously and be guided by divine wisdom for a successful tenure.
In his response, Nana Okofo Gyan Kwagyan II pledged loyalty and support to the chiefs, and promised to uphold the integrity of the stool, and called for a united front among the people for accelerated development.
He mentioned that he would prioritise the construction of a modern palace and a hospital to meet the health needs of the people.
Nana Kwagyan also used the occasion to appeal to natives of Adwampong, both at home and abroad, to rally behind him to achieve his goals.
