
The 6-Unit classroom block at Nhyiaeso
Officials of MTN-Foundation, last Thursday, commissioned and handed over a six-unit classroom block, constructed at a cost of GH¢500,000, to the chiefs and residents of Nhyiaeso, a community in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti Region.

The project was to replace a dilapidated structure that housed over 400 pupils at Nhyiaeso.
Mr. Sam Korankye, Corporate Services Executive, stated at the ceremony that MTN is committed to continue with investments in its priority areas, such as education, healthcare and economic empowerment to enrich or improve the lives of the people, and help to transform their lives.
He stressed MTN’s commitment to invest in human development, hence, its commitment to replace the dilapidated structure in the community.
Madam Mildred Ama Kwakye Agyapong, District Director of Education for Asante Akyem North, commended MTN Foundation for carrying out such a project in the Nhyiaeso community.
She noted that the staff and pupils would now have a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
The Director of Education tasked the Headmaster to ensure that the facility was put to the intended purpose and maintained for the benefit of future generations.
She expressed her profound gratitude to Ohemeng Tawiah, a journalist at Multimedia, for highlighting the plight of the school, which effort attracted the attention of MTN to come to the aid of the community.
Nana Brantuo Asadu, Agogo Nkonwahene, expressed his profound appreciation on behalf of the chiefs and people of Nhyiaeso to MTN.
He announced that the Chief of Mponua, a community in the district, had decided to provide 100 acres of land free of charge to MTN to commence any project of its choice.
Nana Kwasi Wusu, Chief of Nhyiaeso, lauded MTN and Multimedia for the significant role in helping the community to get such a modern facility to promote education.
Andy Appiah Kubi and Francis Oti-Boateng, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akyem North Constituency and the District Chief Executive respectively, commended MTN for the laudable and massive project in complementing the government’s agenda in the provision of conducive places for teaching and learning in the country, and charged the authorities to ensure teaching and learning improves in the school.
