As part of his contribution to supplement the central government in fighting the pandemic, Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe, Kintampo North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has presented to the leadership of the College of Heath, 500 pieces of nose masks, and 240 pieces of alcohol-based hand sanitisers.
In his presentation, he stated: “The great pandemic has come to human society. The world, one year before, was the place where many could hug, shake hands, and whisper into ears, all as ways of exchanging pleasantries. But the world today is the place where many cannot even recognise one another in a piece of cloth covering the face to prevent infections.”
According to him: “It is necessary we look at the virus as an all-Ghanaian matter, as said by the President,” he, therefore, called on all stakeholders – political, religious, traditional, and civil society leaders – to come together with the support from government to combat the pandemic.
He also seized the opportunity to advise the students to strictly abide by all protocol measures put in place by the government, as they resume academic work and use the knowledge acquired as health professionals to sensitise the general public on the pandemic.
Receiving the items on behalf of the College, Dr. Kwabena Opoku-Adusei, expressed their appreciation to the MCE for his kind gesture.
He added that the items received would supplement what was received from central government. He gave the assurance that the items would be put to good use to serve the purpose for which they were brought.
