The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwesimintsim, Joseph Mensah, has presented fifty bags of cement to the Sabo-Zongo community to battle perennial flood problems.
The MP also promised to provide the community a double axel truck load of sand and quarry stones for the construction of a gutter, as the rainy season nears.
The Sabo Zongo electoral area approached the MP to assist them construct a gutter to help address the perennial floods that plague the area whenever there is a downpour.
The MP, consequently obliged to the request, which was made through their elected Assembly Member, and fulfilled the promise of giving them fifty bags of cement.
At the presentation ceremony held last week, Joseph Mensah, popularly known as ‘Joe Mensah,’ thanked the electoral area for their spirit of communal work.
He added that the request for the bags of cement to construct a gutter through communal labour spoke volumes of the kind of people who make up the electoral area.
The MP, who was full of praise for the residents in the electoral area, particularly the youth, added that a community could not be built without dedicated, zealous and selfless individuals with a common aim.
The elected Assembly Member, on behalf of the community, thanked the MP for responding quickly to their request.
