Hundreds of mourners at a funeral at Akyem Nkwatanan in the Kwaebibirim District of the Eastern Region have blatantly disregard President Akufo-Addo’s restrictions on public gatherings.
In a recent address, President Akufo-Addo partially eased restrictions on public gatherings.
The President stated that beginning Friday, June 5, 2020, a total of 100 people can now attend private burials and wedding ceremonies, and same for church services and mosques for prayers, but with other guidelines.
However, on Saturday morning, hundreds of mourners trooped to a funeral at Akyem Nkwatanan without observing the social distancing and wearing of nose masks protocols.
Health officials in the community are worried over the situation and want the police to take immediate action, as many of the mourners are coming from various parts of the country.
