The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Daniel Okyem Aboagye, has donated an anesthesia machine and patient monitors and accessories to the Suntreso Government Hospital.
The Bantama MP further presented a quantity of boxes of hand sanitiser, disposable face masks and PPE to the health facility.
Okyem Aboagye indicated that the anesthesia machine and patient monitors, which cost GH¢100,000, was to help solve the challenges it faced and augment equipment at the hospital which had only one theatre machine.
He explained that he procured the machines from his share of the MPs National Health Insurance Scheme Fund.
Okyem Aboagye disclosed that he had contributed funding towards the construction of a Child Care Center at the hospital, which was started by the administration with Internally Generated Funds, but came to a standstill for lack of finance.
The project is expected to be completed in the next three months for post-natal care services.
Receiving the items, the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Agyarko Poku, praised Daniel Okyem Aboagye for his continuous support for the facility.
On behalf of the management, staff and patients, Dr. Agyarko Poku thanked the MP and expressed the hope that he would assist in the provision of residential accommodation for the hospital staff.
