The Asantehene’s Apagyahene, Oheneba Owusu Afriyie IV, has cautioned members of the general public against encroaching on all parcels of stool land situated and lying near Bomfa in the Afigya Kwabre South District in the Ashanti Region, which land is bounded by the Nwabi River, the Ajamesu River, Danyame River, the Worakwaku Stream, and Aboabo River.
According to Oheneba Afriyie, the said parcel of land is currently in dispute between the Oyoko Bremang Stool and Bomfa Stool.
He said the dispute is currently pending before His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, and warned the land owning public to resist from allocating, entering, developing or dealing with any portion of the aforementioned lands with immediate effect.
The Apagyahene, who is the Liaison Officer at the Asantehene’s Lands Secretariat, emphasised that any person or group of persons or corporate body who had acquired plots of land in the disputed area from any source, and whether it had been developed or at the developing stage, must stop work immediately.
He said all persons who had acquired plots there should submit all documents pertaining to the said plots of land within the disputed land, to the Liaison Office at the Asantehene’s Lands Secretariat, Manhyia Palace, by the close of August this year.
Oheneba Owusu Afriyie also indicated that all affected persons who fail to respond to the directive to submit documents for verification and regularisation must hold themselves responsible for any adverse consequences.
