A rebel group in the Democratic Republic of Congo has killed at least 23 people in Ituri Province in the east of the country, officials say.
Members of a militia called Codeco attacked a village in Mahagi district on Friday as people were setting off to work in the fields.
The day before the same militia, which is drawn from the Lendu ethnic group, killed 13 people in another part of the mineral-rich province which has suffered decades of inter-communal violence.
Two warlords from another militia have been convicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes committed in Ituri.
Dozens of armed groups are active in eastern DR Congo.
The country’s army says it has had significant recent success against them.
But correspondents say the insecurity is still rife.
On Friday in DR Congo’s Virunga National Park ethnic Hutu militiamen carried out an ambush killing 16 people – most of whom were rangers.
