On the strength of the directive by the President on Sunday, Assembly member for Krofofrom East Electoral Area in Kumasi, Hon. Kwame Frimpong has declared that all residents who depend on the two mechanized boreholes at Casablanca and Division school in the electoral area are to draw water without paying for it for the months of April, May and June.
In a statement released shortly after the President’s nationwide broadcast Sunday night, the assemblyman said the unit committee and his office decided to implement the president’s directive without any delay.
Hon. Frimpong lauded the decision of President Akufo-Addo to absorb water bills incurred by residents of the lockeddown areas for the next three months.
The assemblyman appealed to his constituents in general and Ghanaians in particular to cooperate with the government and abide by the guidelines and regulations set out in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. He also appealed to the government to reduce electricity tariffs even though electricity supply would not be disconnected for three months.
