The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Aowin, Samuel Adu Gyamfi, is set to take office, after his successful confirmation by the elected assembly members and government appointees who make up the Aowin District Assembly.
28 out of 34 elected members voted yes to confirm Adu Gyamfi’s nomination.
In his speech, the newly-confirmed and sworn in DCE said, with the nod to lead in championing the socio-economic development of the Aowin District, he would ensure that the district gets its fair share in the implementation of policies and programmes contained in the 2017 ‘Asempa’ Budget.
He said his vision is to ensure the efficient utilisation of the resources at the local level. “I shall not discriminate against any individual, group, electoral area, or community on the basis of ethnicity or their political or religious affiliation. We are one people, one district, one nation.”
Mr. Adu-Gyamfi said, he would run an open and transparent administration to the extent that his doors would be widely opened for consultations, suggestions and constructive criticisms.
As a district that is predominantly agrarian, Aowin has a comparative advantage in the implementation of the government’s agriculture flagship programme dubbed ‘Planting for Food and Jobs’ he explained.
Mr. Felix Foster Ackah, Presiding Member of the Assembly, expressed his appreciation for the massive endorsement by the assembly members, promising to work together to achieve the vision and mission of the assembly.
