From Sebastian R. Freiku, Kumasi…
Political observers, particularly in the Adansi South constituency in the Ashanti Region, are wondering if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Secretary for Adansi Akrofuom in the Adansi South District, Robert Dzamasi, intends to take his life, following the election of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as President-elect of Ghana.
They are closely observing when the dye-in-the-wool member of the defeated NDC would go into action, particularly, when the NDC has also lost the Adansi South parliamentary seat at New Edubiase, which the NDC has occupied since 1992, to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in last week’s elections.
In March 2015, Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah, Founder of the Glorious Word Ministry International, predicted victory for the NPP and its presidential candidate in the 2016 elections.
But, in reaction, Mr. Dzamasi, who is the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Co-ordinator in the Adansi South District, said he would take his life if the Prophet’s prediction comes true, as published by The Chronicle.

“I will hang myself to death if Nana Addo emerges winner in the 2016 elections, in line with Owusu Bempah’s prediction,” he told a press conference held at the Africa Lodge at Obuasi on Tuesday March 3, 2015.
Mr. Dzamasi said there is no way Nana Akufo-Addo can become President, let alone win elections, and called on the Christian Council of Ghana to call Rev. Owusu Bempah to order, by ensuring that the man of God is critically examined at the psychiatric hospital to check the state of his mind, and promised to foot the bill.
The NADMO Co-ordinator was convinced that Prophet Owusu Bempah’s prophecy was “useless and fabricated”, for which he believed the Man of God had a mental defect, and, therefore, must be thoroughly examined.
According to Mr. Dzamasi, four previous prophecies by Rev. Owusu Bempah had turned out to be false, and dared him to tell Ghanaians when and where the prediction of Nana Addo’s victory was revealed to him by God.
Mr. Dzamasi believed Rev. Owusu Bempah wanted some attention for himself, and gave an open invitation to the man of God to join the NDC if he felt attracted to it, instead of resorting to “useless prophecies.”
The NDC executive saw the Prophet’s position as a tactic to divert the attention of the government from major national issues, which he believed was being influenced by a political party.
Mr. Dzamasi also called on party members, supporters and foot soldiers to remain focused, and not be distracted from their target of winning the 2016 elections, and urged them to rise against such “useless prophecies.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Dzamasi’s cell phone could not be reached for his reaction and current position over the NPP’s victory and election of Nana Akufo-Addo as President-elect in the polls.
