From Sebastian R. Freiku, Kumasi.
Founder and leader of Open Arms Ministries/Jesus Chapel in Kumasi, Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie has called for reduction in interest rates by the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
He said the current interest rate which is pegged at around 37% should be reduced by half to less than 20% to lessen burden on the economy.
The man of God explained at a media encounter in Kumasi Monday that the banks are rather making fat profits and therefore it should reflect in the interest rates charged.
Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie has, therefore, called on the President, Governor of the bank of Ghana and the Finance Minister to consider his suggestion towards an economic emancipation.
He has also called on the Association of Ghana Industries, the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Ghana Employers Association to work towards the reduction of interest rates by the Bank of Ghana.
