Ghana will commence their 2022 World Cup qualifiers with a home game against Ethiopia on Friday at the Cape Coast stadium before playing South Africa on September 6.
With Hearts of Oak playing Guinean side Club Industriel de Kamsar on September 10 in the preliminary round of the Champions League, the Phobians is believed to have sent a proposal in the bid to engage the Black Stars in a friendly as part of their preparations.
But according to Accra based Angel FM, the technical handlers of the Black Stars headed by CK Akonnor has turned Hearts of Oak’s request down.
“We told them we want to play them in a friendly because we thought it would be beneficial to both of us but they said no. The excuse was that they are moving to Cape Coast but we insisted that even if they will play, we will travel to Cape Coast and pay our expenses and come back but they still rejected the request”, Hearts of Oak insider told Angel FM.
