The National Division One League season commenced in January this year but had to be put on hold in March to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
Having stayed at home for 3 months with no football action, Coach Stephen Abugri has revealed that the financial constraints it is causing him are enormous.
"The effect of the COVID-19 is very negative on everything especially on me. In fact, I am very hot and broke because in Ghana here, "No Coaching No Salary". I know all the other coaches are hot but I am very broke”, the Techiman City FC coach said in an interview with Nkunim FM.
Though the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is in talks with the government to seek permission for football to return, they have still not had a breakthrough.
Due to that, the resumption of the 2019/20 football season remains in limbo with no uncertain date of a possible return. Read Full Story
