Social Distancing and the compulsory wearing of mask have been some of the protocols stated by the health officials.
There have also been reports from other African countries of the usage of traditional medicines in fighting the pandemic.
They said they have increased the usage of marijuana with the firm belief that it makes them immune from the virus.
Professor Alfred Yawson speaking on the development said there have not been any proven test that marijuana will boost one’s immune system and help protect people against the virus.
He explained that smoking marijuana has its own health effect and the increase in usage will compound the issues related with it.
Professor Alfred Yawson noted that most of these people use more of marijuana than the prescribed use by a health official.
“It has not been proven that smoking marijuana will protect you from Covid-19 and marijuana has its own effect, increasing the usage and excessive usage may have a more ill effect than you would wish for. The dosages prescribed medically are way below what they use…”
