The subject of conflict of interest came up after the appointment of CK Akonnor as a replacement for James Kwasi Appiah as Akonnor was reported to be managed by Proton Sports Services, a company that was formed by Kurt Okraku.
Kurt in his engagement with the media today revealed that he resigned from his position at Proton Sports Services the very day he was elected as the President of the GFA and is no longer a shareholder of the said company thus he does not manage any coach within the shores of Ghana.
“As part of our communications strategy, every national team coach will face the media one way or the other at all times and that includes the head coach of the Black Stars”
“I don't manage CK Akonnor or any coach in Ghana. I have had a relationship with a lot of people in the industry and I know CK Akonnor because he worked for Dreams Football Club just like he worked for Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, and Ashgold.”
“I was a shareholder of a company called Proton Sports Services but as we speak, I’m no more a shareholder of that company. It was a company that I created in England, operated in England and transferred the same to Ghana.
