Ghana moved up four places in November’s ranking after defeating South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
The wins over South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications contributed to a rise in last month’s global rankings from 51st to the 47th place.
With no football until 2020, Ghana retains its 47th spot in the December and final rankings for the year.
On the African continent too, the Black Stars also remained in the sixth position sitting behind Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, and Morocco.
Ghana, however, began the year on the 52nd place in global rankings and 6th in the African rankings.
Belgium remains top of the overall rankings for the second successive time after a record-breaking year for the global ladder.
