As Ghana joins the world to mark Human Rights Day today, Commissioner of CHRAJ, Joseph Whittal has disclosed the reintegration would be done with some microfinance support.
According to him, such women have for many years been on the receiving end of many forms of abuse and unacceptable levels of torture and CHRAJ is set to end the degrading treatments meted out to them.
“Over the years CHRAJ has been at the forefront of protecting lives of vulnerable women in particular who have been accused of witchcraft and subjected to torture, cruel, inhuman, degrading treatments affecting their dignity,” he noted.
The Commissioner, in a commemorative event held in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme in Accra, revealed his outfit will on December 20, decommission the said witch camps and ensure inmates have dignified lives. Read Full Story
