Dong Bortey, a former Hearts great, says he will cope with any form of intimidation by the Phobia supporters should they decide to tone that line.
Having won four Premier League titles with Hearts, the experienced player joined arch rivals Olympics on a two-year contract in a deal which many believe would intensify their rivalries when they clash in the Premier League.
“I will be doing my job as a footballer when I play against Accra Hearts of Oak in an Olympics shirt and I expect the Hearts fans to respect that.
“I respect them a lot and I don’t expect any hostile reception from them when I play for Olympics but if it happens, I am ready to cope with that by just playing my game,” Dong Bortey told the Graphic Sports in an interview.
Dong Bortey was a delight to watch during his days with Hearts and now joins the Wonder Club with vast experience, having had stints with GHAPOHA, Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars and New Edubiase in the past.
The player is ,however, calling on his teammates to work hard to restore the image of Olympics as one of the best clubs in the country by winning trophies.
“I signed with Olympics during the Normalisation Committee competition and I am looking forward to helping make the club great again.
