Explaining what he meant, Kirani Ayat said the fan base of artistes such as Sarkodie could be likened to a cult and that is what he wants to get.
“I do want to start a cult. I mean, I feel like Sarkodie has a cult, his fan base, I mean, that’s a cult. They ride for you, they support you, that’s what I mean. Cult has different meanings and it depends on the pretext in which you use it,” he said.
The ‘Guda’ hitmaker explained further that what he wants is to have a strong following who could ‘ride or die’ for him.
“It’s like a cult following and when they say someone has a cult following, they ride or die for him, that is their guy no matter what. He can’t do no wrong in their eyes. That is a cult following and that is what I want, that is what I want to start.”
Asked by the host if it would not bother him to have fanatics in willing to kill for him in his cult, the afro-fusion musician said, “the more the better”.
